Privacy Policy for RouteForge

RouteForge (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile field canvassing app for local service businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how RouteForge collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the RouteForge mobile app and related services.

1. Information We Collect

RouteForge may collect or process the following information:

a. Search and route information

When you use RouteForge to find stops or build a route, you may enter information such as:

• starting location
• city or work area
• state
• business types
• selected stops
• saved route names
• route progress and stop statuses

b. Field notes and stop information

You may choose to save notes for individual stops, including:

• window counts
• rough bid estimates
• field notes
• pricing notes
• follow-up details
• manually added business names, addresses, phone numbers, or categories

c. Feedback information

If you submit feedback through the app, we may collect:

• your feedback message
• optional contact information if you provide it
• technical information needed to receive and respond to the feedback

d. Technical information

Our backend service and hosting providers may automatically process limited technical information such as:

• IP address
• request time
• API request path
• device/browser/network information made available through normal server logs
• error logs or diagnostic information

2. Information We Do Not Collect

RouteForge does not currently require:

• user accounts
• passwords
• payment information
• access to your contacts
• access to your photos
• advertising tracking identifiers

RouteForge does not sell personal information.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide business search results
• build and save canvassing routes
• help you track stop outcomes
• save field notes and follow-up details
• improve app reliability and usability
• respond to feedback or support requests
• detect errors, abuse, or service problems

4. Real Business Search

RouteForge uses a hosted backend service to request business search results. When you search for businesses, the app may send the city, state, business type selections, and related search parameters to our backend.

Our backend may use third-party data sources, including OpenStreetMap/Overpass, to return nearby business information such as business names, addresses, categories, websites, phone numbers when available, and coordinates.

5. Local Storage

RouteForge stores route sessions, selected stops, statuses, and field notes locally on your device so you can close and reopen the app without losing your progress.

If you uninstall the app, locally stored data may be deleted from your device.

6. Sharing of Information

We may share limited information with service providers that help operate RouteForge, such as:

• app hosting providers
• backend hosting providers
• email/feedback service providers
• mapping/navigation services when you choose to open a route in Google Maps

When you tap to open a route or stop in Google Maps, your interaction is handled by Google Maps and is subject to Google’s own privacy practices.

7. Data Retention

Locally saved route and stop information remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

Backend logs and feedback messages may be retained for a reasonable period to operate, debug, secure, and improve the app.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no app, network, or service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

9. Children’s Privacy

RouteForge is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Your Choices

You may:

• choose what information to enter into the app
• avoid entering sensitive information in field notes
• delete routes or notes in the app where supported
• uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
